Syria
Syria is a small country nestled in the Middle East with some intriguing culture. It is one of the more impoverished countries yet history gives it an opportunity to shine. The city of Aleppo has a great Souk (market) that takes you into another world, from vendor to vendor offering everything you really need to things you realized you could possibly need. Small streets wind though this labyrinth Souk full of people, animals and small carts all rushing around, with great food and spice smells and colorful sceneries to gaze upon. At the center of Aleppo is a Citadel to explore and get an overview of the whole city from the top. Palmyra takes you into the middle of the desert, quiet as can be with the ancient city to roam, and visit the Arab fort built in 1680. Don’t forget to enjoy a typical style dinner in a Bedouin tent and dance the night away. Damascus claims to be the oldest continuously occupied city and don’t miss the famous Crac des Chevaliers on your way to Damascus or visit the Roman theatre in Bosra.
