Do You Reach a Global Market

How many do you attempt to reach? Perhaps you concentrate on your domestic market only. What if you looked overseas? How would you promote your service or products to them?

In the age of the internet, it is possible to reach many of them. According to World Internet Stats (www.internetworldstats.com) there are approximately 1.3 billion internet users.

When a company becomes a global marketer, it views the entire world as its market place and makes only a few adjustments to its product or service to accommodate local conditions. Global Brands like Coca Cola; Nike; Ford, etc make very few changes to their products but reach a global market.

If you already have on-line marketing strategies, you'll appreciate the benefits of the internet. However, if your current marketing is constrained to off-line marketing you may be missing out on a global market.

One of the most popular ways to reach a global market is to have a web site.

Building Alliances To Compete In The Global Market

Once, businesses competed in stable local and national markets with familiar competitors and captive customers. Not any more.

To compete in the 21st century, you need to be global and flexible. You have to respond to new, innovative competitors constantly busting to take away your customers. You have to keep seeking new products, new customers, and new markets, and still keep costs and prices down. You have to move fast and be everywhere.

Business in the Information Age is complicated not only by the new forms of relationships, but also by the distance of the people we are dealing with on a daily basis. For centuries, local proximity has determined the way we do business. We’ve dealt with customers who shared a common culture and therefore easily understood our products and services.

Marketing Your Website to a Global Market

As the United States economy begins to fall flat, investors are either starting to pull the plug on their advertising budget or severely cutting it. And that hurts the bottom line for any website that almost entirely relies on traffic from the United States.

The typical website, in English, would ordinarily have about 80% of its traffic originating from the United States. A significant amount of the remaining 20% would be coming from Canada and the United Kingdom, even India. These countries search for content in English.

The economies of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom are very closely related. What needs to be done for any successful internet marketer, is a diversification of traffic. The first step towards diversifying one's traffic is to make it appeal to a broader audience.

Make the Most of the Global Market With Multilingual SEO

In today's fast-paced internet marketing world more and more businesses are aware of the need for quality SEO. The concept of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a simple one really: get the attention of the search engine spiders that 'crawl' the web constantly in search of relevant information for each subject. In practice it is not nearly as simple as many quickly learn. However, even when these companies seek out help in the area of internet commerce development they often overlook one vital aspect: not everybody speaks the same language.

Many people are unaware of the fact that search engines have divisions for languages. So just because you are on the top of the list for English speaking websites with your information, for instance, does not mean you are anywhere on the list at all for Spanish, or other languages. That can have a significant impact on your business even if you operate solely in a particular area as many times there are huge communities that speak a different language, and use their computers in those languages rather than in English. This is where a multilingual SEO company can help tremendously.

Global Market is Fluctuating Due to Economic Instability

Global markets showed signs of recovery in December as governments worldwide introduced fresh measures to combat recession. However, global economic data released during the month continued to paint a bleak picture of the macroeconomic environment. In Asia, equity markets rebounded in tandem with global markets as market sentiment improved somewhat over the month.

The Indonesian market was boosted by its Financials and Telecoms sectors, which showed positive growth during the month. Korea, which had cut interest rates more than expected, showed positive growth in its Industrials and Materials sectors. In Thailand, good performance of the Utilities and Energy sectors helped overall market performance. Over the month, Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan were the weakest performers in the region. The Philippines market showed negative growth across most market sectors, dragging overall market performance down. The Hong Kong market was weighed down by its Materials and Utilities sectors.

In a Global Market Does it Pay to Go Local?

I'm a small local businessman in Hemel Hempstead, England and building the local economy is my passion. There you go, I've let my dirty little secret out the bag. Talking with my friends in the UK, both business and non-business people, one thing has become abundantly clear - we are all losing faith in the big boys.

In the UK, our government has misled us over the war in Iraq and we are embroiled in a war in Afghanistan that we don't quite understand either. Lately our politicians are scurrying for cover, and the exit doors, as their fiddling of expenses becomes public knowledge. The banks have been seen to have been acting with naivety at the best and dishonestly at the worst and have also lost our confidence. Big businesses are laying people off and our economy is really struggling. What are we to do?

The Truth About Global Marketing With Article Marketing

Thanks to the vast reaches of the internet, global marketing is now possible for the average business owner, either the large corporation or the small privately run entity, to narrow the geographic divide.

The main point of search engine optimization (SEO) and reaching a global audience is not only to drive traffic to your site, but also to then convert those visitors from all over the world into paying customers. Web traffic and the ensuing exposure are nice, of course, but if those hits don't improve business and increase sales, what purpose do they really serve?

How to Compete in a Global Marketplace

If it were not for the ability to be able to market your products and services to other countries and locations, think about how much worse your business would be in during these times. Now that is not always true for every business, but it holds true for those who have a marketable product or service that can be bought and sold across any physical boundaries.

These businesses are not just online, either. Some produce products which are able to be shipped with relative ease around the world. Which brings us to ask the question: what things must be done in order to compete globally? How can a business take advantage of customers who live around the world and speak a different language?

Understanding the Global Marketplace

The single greatest invention for interstate and even international trade is the internet. But as large as the internet is, it can be surprisingly easy operate in the global market place.

Big box retailers and huge corporate service providers have more or less the same access to customers that you do in the virtual bazaar known as the internet. Wal-Mart might have a goliath of a website to easily navigate, but in some ways that takes the in person edge away. It's easy to pull up a page with 100 TVs of assorted sizes, but the descriptions are limited to a small thumbnail. With a lack of detailed description, it's much harder to make an informed choice. Smaller companies on the web are able to "pitch" their services and inventory because they can put time and effort into their business. Buying rubber baby bumpers just got personal again.

Managing Brands in Global Markets

Theodore "Ted" Levitt of Harvard Business School set the marketing world abuzz in 1983 with a bold prediction: Globalization had arrived, and before long global companies would be selling products and services in the same way everywhere on earth. Levitt's forecast was compelling -- and more than a little daunting for executives wondering how they would go about adapting to this brave new world of monolithic brands.

More than 20 years later, however, Levitt's prediction has not come to pass, according to Wharton marketing professors George S. Day and David J. Reibstein, who note that only a handful of truly global brands exist today, despite the increased globalization of markets. In addition, experience has shown that companies need not always create one-size-fits-all global brands just because the world appears to be shrinking. Indeed, firms should recognize that adapting brands to local conditions will on many occasions be the best approach, and at times the only approach, because local conditions will leave them no other choice.

5 Tips for Item Descriptions

Do you have writer's block when it comes to crafting your Etsy item listings? You're in luck! Optimize your shop with the following five tips for effective and descriptive prose in your product listings. You'll have a way with words in no time!

1. Create an inverted pyramid. The most important information about your item should be first in your description — not only because shoppers want the details on your items as soon as possible, but also because it's a smart way to optimize the way your description displays in Google search results.

2. Short paragraphs and bullet points are your friends. Visitors to your shop might be looking for a specific size or material, so make it easy for them to glean that info from your descriptions by cutting out superfluous language and making good use of bullet points. Think about your descriptions as a way to answer your buyer's questions (within reason, of course).

Taking Better Pictures

Here are some pointers about photographing your work. Especially on sites such as Etsy, where your product really is in a sea of competing items, you need to take great photos to capture the attention of the browser. They better they look and the more they pop, the more likely you'll get the click - and of course, the more clicks, the better the chance at the sale!

When photographing my portfolio almost two years ago, I definitely learned a lot just through experimentation, so I'd love to share my insight with you - hopefully it will help.
